AI in Wind & Solar: Workshop on realistic use cases and clear basis for decision-making

Artificial intelligence is discussed intensively in the energy industry — often abstractly, rarely in a practical way. In order to clarify this, 8.2 Group is offering a compact workshop aimed specifically at specialists and managers in wind and solar energy.

The focus is not on using AI for its own sake, but on the realistic evaluation of specific use cases throughout everyday working life: from yield and performance forecasts to predictive maintenance and AI-based analyses of operational and reporting data.

The workshop provides a common understanding of what can be meaningfully implemented with AI today — and where the limits lie. Based on this, participants identify their own internal use cases, evaluate them in terms of data, effort, benefits and risks, and derive concrete next steps.

Another focus is on the responsible use of generative AI. Using practical examples, methods are presented with which analysis, reporting and documentation processes can be supported — taking into account data protection, data security and regulatory requirements.

At the end of the workshop, there is a clear, prioritized implementation plan, which serves as a basis for pilot projects or strategic decisions. The aim is to replace uncertainty with well-founded bases for decision-making and to enable teams to use AI sensibly and in a controlled manner.
